The View Sure Is Nice

I am so lucky. Okay, maybe fortunate is a better choice of words. I have a job that pays me well, I have work that is interesting if not always challenging, and I have friends that amuse the heck out of me.

My friend D is very drunk right now. She is at restaurant with friends and is on her way to completely shit-faced for the first time in her life. If her kids could see her now I don't know who would be more embarassed!!!

I had the beginnings of a conversation with Amanda to explain to her why I chose to end our friendship. She has complained loudly how she didn't get to ask me why I chose to end the friendship and she wanted closure. As my mother says, closure is highly overrated. I have given her the opportunity. Nothing she's said thus far has made me regret my decision.

Don't misunderstand, it wasn't an easy decision but I had to choose between her and me. It was rather simple after the third attack. The relationship wasn't healthy and there was no reason to continue it.

My new dog is funny. She a Beagle mix who is about 20 months old. She's had one litter of puppies and has a small hernia after her spay operation. She has been with me for two weeks and is gaining a bit of confidence to go exploring around the house. I've already lost a tee shirt to her curiousity. I'm now protecting shoes and other textiles. I had to rescue my kimono from her curious nose. She's so damn cute though.

I ordered two books by Cesar Milan to help me with her training. I want her to be a good dog and I want her to get a Canine Good Citizen certification. I don't think she'll be a good therapy dog, but I can make sure she gets her CGC.

That's it for now.
