Our County Council have got to be the dumbest, cruelest people. Okay, they aren't the level of Hitler or Jeffrey Dahmer, but they lack compassion. Completely.
I rescued a pit bull on Monday March 22nd. I went to the county animal shelter on Saturday, five days later, to find out he had probably been destroyed. It seems that the law does not allow for rescue organizations to take the dogs. They will only allow another animal control facility to take the dogs. They would rather euthanize the dogs than allow them to be adopted to responsible rescues. It's disgusting.
I know it is not the fault of the animal control employees. They definitely have compassion, but the county council does not. Now I'm definitely out to change the law. It's ridiculous, cruel, and unenforceable.
