These topics are not related, but I wanted to get this out of my head.
Pinkie is at John's and she's doing well. She went from a pack of three to six in one day, and now she's in a pack of twelve dogs!! YES! Her dog aggression was not horrible but she wasn't reliable and we need her to be reliable. John says we should think about getting a third dog. Maybe a male Frenchie. I'm going to take a look and see what's out there.
I am so impressed with John. I knew the man knew his stuff, but seeing him in action is great. I don't have any reservations about his methods. Pinkie isn't intimidated or scared. She's very confident. She's finding her place in the pack. Doesn't have any problems at all with the alpha male. It's nearly miraculous.
He did explain that we tend to try to heal them with love. They don't need that. They begin to feel they are dominant. Not good. He gave us some great tips for getting Pinkie and Minnie to cooperate more. They have to earn everything from food to affection. They have to learn that they don't get attention when they want it and they have to do something for it. No more tug of war games. Minnie is going to be so diappointed. There will be daily 45 minute to an hour walks, rain, shine, sleet or snow. Okay, maybe not blizzards. There is no excuse for not walking the dogs. Oi vay!
I think trainers remind dogs how to be dogs and teach humans how to be pack leaders. None of that kissy huggie stuff. It isn't what they need. They need leadership. Now I know.
Now, on to Texas.
I know it's the Texas Board of Education, but dayum!
They want to change information about slavery calling it the Atlantic Trade Triangle. I'm not sure what the textbook says about the civil rights movement, and am afraid to find out. This is just so scary. We are going to have whole generations of children who think slavery and the civil rights movement were very minor inconveniences to African-Americans. That's wrong on every level.
I wonder if those people who wrote the textbook are Christians. If they are, how will they answer God when He asks them why they lied?
